Customer Service Specialist (Staff Wage)
About the role
The UVA Bookstore is seeking a candidate who can provide exemplary customer service and manage daily operations in a retail environment.
Responsibilities
- Proficient in cashier and computer functions
- Stocking sales floor
- Receiving merchandise and transfers
- Ensuring all inventory assets are secure
- Performing opening and closing functions independently
- Working a flexible schedule that includes weekends
Requirements
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong mathematical skills
- Basic computer knowledge including use of Microsoft applications, email, and other basic functions
- Computer and cash register experience
- Enthusiasm for athletics and sporting goods
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience: At least one year of experience

Benefits
This is a wage position which is not eligible for leave or other benefits and is limited to 1500 hours of work in a year.
Pay
$18 - $20 per hour
Schedule
Average 25-29 hours a week
Physical Demands
The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
