About the role

The Customer Service Specialist is an action-oriented role for a motivated individual with an obsession for customer satisfaction. You’ll drive process improvement, analyze systemic issues, and implement solutions to challenging problems while providing exceptional service through various communication channels. This role serves as the contact between departments such as Customer Service, Operations, Transportation, and Inventory. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy environment and is a creative, analytical problem solver with a passion for excellent customer service.

Schedule

Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. Overtime may be necessary.

Pay

$20.06 – $22.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Review and process division-level credits daily using various programs and current processes, maintaining processing time set by company standards.
  • Respond to inquiries from customers and internal teams via Teams, CCIC, email, telephone, or other communication methods.
  • Conduct account research and resolve issues within the scope of authority.
  • Maintain appropriate records and prepare required reports in a timely fashion.
  • Review assigned reports and take action to resolve issues.
  • Enter and retrieve information using computer terminals (DCMS, CCIC, Excel).
  • Assist internal and external customers with orders, credits, item information, and credit discrepancies.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of pricing and product availability.
  • Ensure customer service levels meet company standards.
  • Demonstrate professional communication skills (phone, interpersonal, written, verbal).
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor, representing the company in a positive light.
  • Proactively communicate system and process issues, as well as customer feedback trends, to management.
  • Establish priorities, multitask effectively, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
  • Exceed customer expectations by going above and beyond.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.
  • 1–2 years of related customer service, client management, and troubleshooting experience.
  • 1–2 years of experience using Microsoft Outlook and phone systems.
  • C-Store and/or grocery industry experience.
