Customer Service Specialist
About the role
The Utah Department of Alcoholic Beverage Services is seeking a Customer Service Specialist to join the Licensing & Compliance Division. Ideal candidates will demonstrate exceptional office support skills and a customer service focus.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders and the general public.
- Prepare and/or process documents; review for accuracy and completeness; update information and/or evaluate against policy; compare elements for consistency or logical relationships, etc.
- Write or draft correspondence, reports, documents and/or other written materials.
- Type and prepare reports or other written materials from source documents, transcription, etc.
- Retrieve data found in databases to generate requested reports.
- Absorb and/or create files or record keeping systems.
- Sort, label, file and retrieve documents or other materials.
- Cooker fingerprinting requirements in support of DABS licensing and permitting.
- Maintain and/or create files or record keeping systems.
- Monitor BCI background check results; collect, review, and process required documentation; and maintain accurate, confidential records.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Be at least 21 years of age or older.
- Pass a background check.
- Have a customer service focus and concentrate on how every interaction helps the customer.
- Have administrative or office support experience.
- Have experience working in a state or local government office environment.
- Be adaptable and flexible to address competing priorities.
- Communicate effectively to interact and build relationships with co-workers, managers, stakeholders, and the public.
- Be organized and able to manage time and schedule tasks effectively to deliver results and meet deadlines.
- Show that you can be trusted with confidential information and other sensitive data.
- Problem-solve and find solutions focused to help keep the division operations running smoothly.
- Have attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions correctly to complete work according to specifications.
