Responsibilities

  • Communicate with customers via phone, email, and other electronic channels to provide clear and accurate product and service information.
  • Process customer orders efficiently and accurately, ensuring all required details are captured and documented.
  • Address customer account requests, including account setup, updates, and access to online ordering tools and digital self-service resources.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of customer interactions, including inquiries, complaints, resolutions, and follow-up actions.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of building materials and products commonly used in residential construction, such as dimensional lumber, engineered wood products, and structural components.
  • Apply an understanding of residential construction methods and terminology, including framing concepts, floor systems, roof systems, and load-bearing structures when advising customers.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment and timely resolution of customer issues using SAP and Salesforce.

Essential Skills

  • Proven customer service experience, with at least 2 years in order management or customer service roles.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers via phone, email, and digital channels.
  • Ability to process orders accurately and efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Experience using SAP for order entry, account management, and documentation.
  • Experience working in Salesforce for customer relationship management and tracking customer interactions.

Work Environment

This role operates in a hybrid work environment with a combination of remote and in-office work during regular business hours. The typical schedule is Monday and Friday working from home, with Tuesday through Thursday in the office. Work is primarily performed in a professional office setting and via digital tools, including SAP and Salesforce, as well as email and other electronic communication channels. The culture emphasizes a supportive, collaborative atmosphere and a strong focus on customer service.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.

About the Role

The Customer Service Specialist supports customers across phone, email, and digital channels by providing accurate product and service information, processing orders, resolving account and billing inquiries, and ensuring a positive experience. This role combines strong customer service skills with knowledge of residential construction materials and methods to help customers order the right products, manage their inventory, and plan their supply needs.
