About the role

The Oregon Health Authority (OHA), Public Health Division (PHD), Health Licensing Office (HLO) is recruiting for a Customer Service Representative (Public Service Representative 3).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee authorization and renewal processes for the Board of Cosmetology.
  • Review license applications for completeness and accuracy, ensuring all required documentation is submitted and applicants meet established qualifications.
  • Assist both current and prospective licensees, providing high-quality customer service while maintaining compliance with state and federal requirements.

Requirements

  • Two years of experience in customer service, with one year including explanation of rules, regulations, and policies and responsibility for dealing with unique or unusual situations.

Qualifications

  • Desired attributes include experience creating and maintaining a respectful, inclusive, and welcoming work environment, clear and professional communication, strong organizational skills, and the ability to interpret and apply laws, rules, policies, and procedures.

Skills

  • Excellent computer and data entry skills.
  • Ability to review applications and supporting documentation to determine eligibility by verifying completeness, accuracy, and compliance with applicable laws, rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to establish and maintain electronic and physical filing systems while ensuring confidentiality and accuracy of records.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
