About the role

A Customer Service Representative (CSR) will act as a liaison, provide product/services information, and resolve any emerging issues that customer accounts might face with accuracy and efficiency. The office environment is managed by one person and is responsible for the daily activity of the office.

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers with any questions regarding their accounts both in person and on the telephone
  • Resolve any complaints by working with other departments to satisfy the customer promptly
  • Research customer problems and perform adjustments to correct them
  • Receive payment on accounts in person and by telephone
  • Reconcile customer accounts
  • Perform customer account maintenance such as address changes, budget payments, and prebuy plans
  • Track and record problem calls
  • Handle mailing of daily invoices and the process of month-end statements
  • Assist switchboard/receptionist with answering incoming calls
  • Contact customers to update information and identify opportunities to better serve their needs
  • Perform general correspondence duties and other tasks assigned by the Customer Service Manager
  • Monitor tank gauges
  • Verify petty cash

Requirements

  • Proven communication and customer service skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Must be organized and detail-oriented
  • Self-motivated
  • Able to respond to customers in a polite and friendly manner
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • High School degree
  • Must be flexible with work hours

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

The demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is largely a sedentary role in an office setting. The employee will sit and/or stand for a majority of their shift. Viewing computer screens, paperwork, and filing is required. This may involve the ability to lift files, open cabinets, bend or stand, stoop, pull, or kneel as necessary. The employee must occasionally pull, lift, and/or move objects up to 25 pounds.
