Position Overview

Division: COURT OPERATIONS
Reporting Location: 1400 Lubbock, and All Satellite Locations
Workdays & Hours: Monday – Sunday All shifts, days, and holidays

Description Of Duties / Essential Functions

  • Function in a lead capacity or serve as a shift leader supervising clerks in assigned areas.
  • Provide a professional level of customer service by utilizing efficient problem-solving techniques to address customer concerns and inquiries.
  • Maintain a high level of direct contact with the public, attorneys, court staff, and law enforcement.
  • Provide courtroom support for the assigned Judge.
  • Duties may include the review and processing of daily dockets, and entry of judicial decisions / court actions into the Court’s case management system.
  • Perform general clerical functions using a variety of software applications to generate reports.
  • Conduct data entry of incoming citations including coding and researching records.
  • Process bond forfeitures and handle administrative duties related to bond administration.
  • Interface with law enforcement officials for the verification of warrants and notifications.
  • Participate in periodic rotation to alternate Court locations and/or sections.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education Requirement: Requires a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience Requirement: One or more years of related experience is required. An associate degree may be substituted for up to two years of experience.
  • Licenses: None required.

PREFERENCES

  • Preferences Shall Be Given To Candidates Who Are/have Clerk Certification by TMCEC / TCCA
  • Bilingual Familiarity with CSMART
  • Documented heavy data experience
  • Extensive customer service experience and knowledge of court policies and procedures
  • Strong working knowledge of CSMART and its functionalities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • One (1) or more years of court clerk experience

  • Selection / Skills Tests Required: None; however, the department may administer, and the applicant must successfully complete, a skills assessment relevant to the job description.
