Customer Service Representative - Cardiothoracic Surgery

Responsibilities

• Handle telephones and provide excellent customer service
• Manage patient appointment scheduling
• Perform patient check-in
• Verify and authorize patient insurance claims
• Prepare and maintain accurate medical records
• Handle pre-certifications and referrals
• Post charges and process initial collections
• Manage business services for various accounts (workers compensation, commercial carriers, employee health, corporate accounts)
• May work late hours, holidays, and weekends as needed

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Less than 1 year of clerical/administrative experience
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• IT/computer proficiency
• Basic math skills
• Knowledge of insurance verification and medical billing helpful
