Customer Service Representative

About the role

Vernovis is looking for a Customer Service Representative who will support our clients' back office, focusing on payroll and billing processes.

Responsibilities

• Verifies data has been entered to process client payroll and billing timely and accurately.
• Timely and professional response to customer enquiries.
• New customer setup and data entry.
• Accurate maintenance of all customer databases, including client payroll data and billing data.
• Updates customer folders with changes to reflect current week’s payroll and billing instructions.
• Processes credits/rebills.
• Aid clients in developing effective processes for reporting their payroll and billing information accurately and timely as needed.
• Provide repeat training or answer lower-level technical questions regarding software usage of payroll and billing platform.
• Timely transmission of accounting and payments reports such as wires, ACH, and AR credits/debits.
• Promptly notify management of problem areas.

Requirements

• Previous experience in payroll processing preferred but not required.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent oral, written communication skills, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to use multiple types of software including MS Office and proficiency in basic office equipment.
• Understanding basic accounting principles including payroll, payroll taxes, AP, AR, and cash posting.
• Ability to understand relationships of data in multiple databases and good with numbers, particularly reconciling differences.
• Must be detail oriented, customer focused, proactive, and able to work under pressure.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in customer service preferred.

Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Basic knowledge of payroll and billing systems.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
