CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE

About the role

As a Customer Service Representative, you’ll assist customers with U-Haul products and services, use smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory, and maintain equipment. This position offers on-the-job education, paid working interviews, a $100 hiring bonus, and a $300 cash bonus upon completion of U-Haul’s Equipment Inspection and Verification program.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers inside and outside a U-Haul center with products and services
• Use smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory
• Move and hook up U-Haul trucks and trailers
• Clean and inspect equipment, including checking fluid levels
• Answer questions and educate customers about products and services
• Prepare rental invoices and accept returned equipment
• Install hitches and trailer wiring
• Fill propane (certification provided by U-Haul)
• Drive a forklift (certification provided by U-Haul)
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Participate in ongoing education through U-Haul University

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a good driving record
• High school diploma or equivalent

Work Environment

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts, such as working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritant chemicals. Protective clothing or gear (e.g., masks, goggles, gloves, or shields) may be required.

Physical Demands

The role requires physical exertion, including long periods of standing or moving, reaching objects at varying heights, and moving equipment weighing a minimum of 50 lbs (assisted or unassisted).
