Customer Service Representative

About the Role

Join a supportive team as the face of U-Haul’s exceptional service, ensuring customers receive all the help they need on their journeys. This position involves inspecting and maintaining equipment, assisting customers, and using up-to-date technology to dispatch and return equipment. U-Haul offers on-the-job education, immediate hiring opportunities ("Hire Fast, Pay Fast"), and paid working interviews. Responsibilities

• Assist customers inside and outside a U-Haul center with products and services.
• Use smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory.
• Move and hook up U-Haul trucks and trailers.
• Clean and inspect equipment on the lot, including checking fluid levels.
• Answer questions and educate customers about products and services.
• Prepare rental invoices and accept equipment returned from rental.
• Install hitches and trailer wiring.
• Fill propane (certification provided by U-Haul upon employment).
• Drive a forklift (certification provided by U-Haul upon employment).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Participate in ongoing continuous education through U-Haul University.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a good driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Work Environment

The role involves moderate risks or discomforts requiring special safety precautions, such as working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritant chemicals. Protective clothing or gear (e.g., masks, goggles, gloves, or shields) may be required.

Physical Demands

The work requires physical exertion, including long periods of standing or remaining stationary, moving indoors and outdoors, positioning to reach objects at varying heights, and moving equipment weighing a minimum of 50 lbs (assisted or unassisted).
