Customer Service Representative
About the Role
Join a supportive team as the face of U-Haul’s exceptional service, ensuring customers receive all the help they need. This position offers on-the-job education, hands-on working interviews (paid for each), a $100 hiring bonus, and a $300 cash bonus upon completion of U-Haul’s Equipment Inspection and Verification certification program.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers inside and outside a U-Haul center with products and services.
- Use smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory.
- Move and hook up U-Haul trucks and trailers.
- Clean and inspect equipment on the lot, including checking fluid levels.
- Answer questions and educate customers about products and services.
- Prepare rental invoices and accept equipment returned from rental.
- Install hitches and trailer wiring.
- Fill propane (certification offered through U-Haul upon employment).
- Drive a forklift (certification offered through U-Haul upon employment).
- Participate in ongoing continuous education through U-Haul University.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a good driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Work Environment
The work involves moderate risks or discomforts requiring special safety precautions, such as working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritant chemicals. Protective clothing or gear (e.g., masks, goggles, gloves, or shields) may be required.
Physical Demands
The role requires physical exertion, including long periods of remaining stationary, moving indoors and outdoors, positioning to reach objects at varying heights, and moving equipment weighing a minimum of 50 lbs (assisted or unassisted).
