About the role
This is a permanent/full-time position available in Memphis, TN and Cordova, TN. The salary range is $85,000 - $100,000 annually for one role and $60,000 - $80,000 annually for another, with a top-tier position offering $200,000 - $250,000 annually and a Tax Director role at $125,000 - $170,000 annually.
Responsibilities
- Drive revenue growth and expand market presence in the Mid-South region.
- Prospect, develop new business opportunities, and build strong client relationships.
- Conduct sales presentations, site visits, and client meetings to understand customer needs and develop tailored solutions.
- Prepare proposals, estimates, and service agreements while collaborating with operations and account management teams.
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through contract execution.
- Maintain ongoing relationships with clients to support retention, account growth, and customer satisfaction.
- Participate in community events, trade associations, networking groups, and marketing initiatives to increase brand visibility.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to identify growth opportunities.
- Track sales activities, pipeline metrics, and business development performance through company systems and reporting tools.
- Support equipment sales transactions and related accounting activity.
- Prepare and issue customer invoices accurately and record transaction details in QuickBooks.
- Maintain up-to-date records for active sales transactions, including financing progress, payment activity, and outstanding documentation.
- Partner closely with sales representatives to gather required paperwork and keep deals moving efficiently.
- Coincide with lending institutions to obtain approvals, funding details, and supporting documents needed to complete transactions.
- Monitor accounts receivable activity and assist with commercial collections when customer payments become past due.
- Contact customers regarding payment status when follow-up is needed beyond the sales team’s initial outreach.
- Support general accounting functions such as journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and account reconciliations.
- Perform bank reconciliations and assist with month-end close activities to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Review invoice coding and transaction data for completeness, accuracy, and proper documentation.
- Direct the organization’s financial and accounting strategy to support growth, stability, and sound decision-making across the business.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and performance analysis to ensure accuracy, transparency, and timely delivery of key information.
- Lead accounting operations within a banking environment, maintaining strong internal controls and adherence to applicable financial regulations and standards.
- Partner with executive leadership to evaluate financial risks, identify opportunities, and shape strategic plans that align with organizational goals.
- Build and sustain productive relationships with banking partners, auditors, regulators, and other key stakeholders.
- Guide responses to financial inquiries from internal and external parties with professionalism, clarity, and sound judgment.
- Strengthen the finance function by mentoring leadership team members, improving processes, and promoting accountability across departments.
- Direct the preparation, review, and final delivery of complex individual and business tax filings, ensuring work is completed accurately and on schedule.
- Advise business owners and high-earning clients on tax planning opportunities, translating technical rules into practical strategies that support broader financial goals.
- Establish performance standards, workflows, and documentation practices that improve consistency, accountability, and efficiency across the tax function.
- Expand the tax practice by identifying revenue opportunities, leading planning engagements, and contributing to sustainable profitability.
- Recruit, coach, and develop tax professionals while fostering a culture of quality, responsiveness, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor key business and operational metrics such as turnaround times, quality outcomes, margins, and team performance to guide decision-making.
- Strengthen the department’s long-term structure by creating scalable processes and supporting the evolution from a preparation-focused model to a more strategic advisory function.
Qualifications
- Required:
- 3+ years of outside sales, business development, account management, or related customer-facing experience.
- Proven ability to generate new business and develop long-term client relationships.
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain a consistent sales pipeline.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the assigned territory.
- Preferred:
- Experience in landscaping, construction, facility services, property management, maintenance services, or related industries.
- Experience selling service-based solutions to commercial clients.
- Familiarity with estimating, job costing, or operational service environments.
- Experience using CRM systems and sales management software.
