Responsibilities
- Answer / screen / telephone calls to the appropriate person, resolve calls (orders, quotes, etc).
- Use hand tools and assist or complete modifications to products (glazing, section width changes, insulating, etc.) and operate a fork truck.
- Respond to customer requests for information on order tracking, expediting, and product availability.
- Perform order entry at both sales and invoicing levels, and request products from supply plants.
- Notify customers of potential backorders, credit issues, and order availability.
- Act as a liaison between the sales center and plant departments, gathering and responding to necessary information.
- Process all necessary paperwork for the daily operation of the sales center as required.
- Assist in unloading and loading vendor and customer vehicles.
- Maintain inventory controls through cycle counts, daily review of inventory levels, scrap processing, and loss prevention.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of customer service experience in the door industry preferred.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent telephone, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of staff and customers.
- Working knowledge of PCs and related software, including MS Word, Excel, Access, Lotus Notes, etc.
- Basic math skills required.
- Willingness to learn about products and processes.
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
Physical / Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods in a non-climate-controlled environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
