Responsibilities
- Answer / screen / and resolve telephone calls to the appropriate person.
- Use hand tools and assist or complete modifications to products such as glazing, section width changes, insulating, etc.
- Operate a fork truck.
- Respond to customer requests for information on order tracking, expediting, and product availability.
- Perform order entry at both sales and invoicing levels, and request products from supply plants.
- Notify customers of potential backorders, credit issues, and order availability.
- Act as a liaison between the sales center and plant departments, gathering and responding to necessary information.
- Process all necessary paperwork for the daily operation of the sales center as required.
- Assist with delivery responsibilities, including driving (with valid license).
- Unload and load vendor and customer vehicles.
- Maintain monitoring of daily customer LTL shipments, including UPS.
- Aid in inventory controls, performing cycle counts, reviewing inventory levels, processing scrap, and preventing losses.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of customer service experience, preferably in the door industry.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent telephone, written, and verbal communication abilities, suitable for interfacing with all levels of staff and customers.
- Working knowledge of PCs and related software, including MS Word, Excel, Access, Lotus Notes, etc.
- Basic math skills required.
- Willingness to learn about products and processes.
Physical / Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods in a non-climate-controlled environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
