Customer Service Representative

Store location: 1001 Lebanon & Noble Road, West Mifflin, Pennsylvania 15122

Full-time position with required evening availability (weekdays and weekends).

Responsibilities

• Customer Satisfaction:
  • Provide prompt, excellent customer service in a courteous, friendly, and attentive manner.
  • Greet customers upon entry and thank them upon departure.
  • Assist customers and offer product recommendations.
  • Accurately process sales using the cash register, handling money, checks, and other payment methods.
  • Operate fuel console, lottery machines, money order machine, and handle telecom transactions.
  • Adhere to dress and appearance code; report to work on time.
• Facility Condition:
  • Maintain store cleanliness inside and out, including basic upkeep of all equipment.
  • Inspect store facilities and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and proper working order.
  • Notify Store Manager of equipment failures, maintenance needs, or supply shortages.
• Merchandising:
  • Complete build-to orders for merchandise purchasing.
  • Receive and verify vendor deliveries.
  • Maintain adequate stock levels throughout the store and in counter areas; rotate stock properly.
  • Place advertising and pricing signage inside and outside the facility, including marquees, ceilings, walls, and windows.
• Sales Controls:
  • Monitor and control merchandise, cash shortages, and other selling expenses.
  • Assist in maintaining proper inventory levels and conducting shift audits.
• Financial Controls:
  • Maintain accurate records of cash, sales, and inventory; account for variances.
  • Notify Store Manager of any discrepancies in sales, cash, or inventory.
  • Follow company guidelines for product breakage or spoilage.
• Security Controls:
  • Report incidents such as employee or customer injuries, theft, property damage, or improper sanitation/waste disposal to the Store Manager.
  • Report any unsafe, unlawful, or unethical conduct.
• Administrative:
  • Maintain accurate records of shift and timekeeping paperwork.
  • May assist with inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Attend job-related meetings; may require working irregular hours.
  • Provide regular and predictable onsite attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Retail sales experience preferred.
• Ability to accurately operate equipment such as cash registers, scanners, beverage dispensers, and other machines or tools.
• Ability to work scheduled shifts, including arriving on time.
• Strong communication skills to convey information clearly.
• Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) preferred.
• Ability to perform essential duties and physical functions as described.

Physical Requirements

• Exposure to cold or warm temperature extremes, including occasional work in walk-in coolers/freezers and outdoors.
• Occasionally lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead (e.g., stocking inventory).
• Occasionally lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds from ground to waist (e.g., replenishing fountain syrups).
• Grasp, reach, and manipulate objects with hands for an entire shift; requires eye-hand coordination.
• Push/pull with arms up to 20 pounds (e.g., using a hand-truck).
• Reach overhead for objects.
• Bend and twist at the waist.
• Communicate orally.
• Operate a cash register and/or computer keyboard.
• Stoop, kneel, squat, bend, push, and pull.
• Ability to work alone.
• Exposure to occasional noise.
• Stand and/or walk for an entire shift.
• May require climbing a ladder to store/retrieve materials or place/remove signs.

Work Environment

• Approximately 95% of work performed indoors, with occasional outdoor tasks such as cleaning parking lots, gas pumps, or taking out garbage.
• Exposure to extreme cold temperatures while working in walk-in coolers/freezers.
• Exposure to occasional noise.
• Work with minimum direction and periodic supervision.

Pay

Hiring range: $15.00 to $15.50 per hour.
