Customer Service Representative
About the role
The Customer Service Representative supports the Freeman Transportation department, working under direct supervision to prepare and manage transportation needs for exhibitor clients. This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule, typically requiring in-office work 2-3 days per week, based in Dallas, TX.
Responsibilities
- Cook up all round trip, inbound, and outbound transportation requirements for exhibitor clients
- Use the current Exhibit Transportation shipment management system for all shipments and make sure all necessary shipment documents are ready and handed out
- Communicate effectively and follow up with selected partner carriers to ensure transportation needs are met
- Get the best price quotes from carriers quickly and tell account executives about the recommended retail prices
- Pass along shipment details to Freeman Transportation staff, including account executives, account managers, branch managers, and directors
- Inform internal companies and departments to ensure smooth exhibit transportation services
- Use carrier software programs to keep track and manage all tendered shipments
- Handle carrier invoicing and billing efficiently
- Prepare monthly shipment and revenue reports
- Distribute Claims forms to customers
- Do other tasks as assigned
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent with relevant work experience required
- At least two (2) years in the transportation industry preferred
- Proficiency in typing 40 wpm
- Excellent 10-key by touch skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Excellent customer service skills
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent with relevant work experience required. Prefer two (2) years in the transportation industry. Must have excellent 10-key by touch skills, proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, and be detail-oriented and organized. Good communication skills (written and verbal) and strong analytical and organizational skills are also required. Excellent customer service skills are preferred.
