About the role

We are hiring a Customer Service Representative in Billerica, MA. This role involves balancing high-energy customer interaction with meaningful operational support in an industrial environment. Key responsibilities include providing industrial, medical, and specialty gases, welding equipment, and other essential supplies, serving as a trusted guide, managing order entry, assisting with reconciliation of deposits, coordinating merchandise transfers, and maintaining a positive work atmosphere.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted guide, advising customers on the tools, hardware, and materials needed to complete their projects.
  • Demonstrate equipment use and share insights on product quality to help customers pioneer new solutions.
  • Adhere to company policies including safety and the use of personal protective equipment to ensure a secure environment.
  • Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external partners, fostering understanding and long-term relationships.
  • Avoid errors in required paperwork, including coding, costing, and pricing.
  • Partner with customers to identify the best tools and procedures for their specific tasks; demonstrate equipment use to build customer confidence.
  • Manage order entry and assist with transaction processing; coordinate with customers and team members to provide helpful information on costs and delivery.
  • Contribute to an outgoing call strategy to support the continued growth and success of the branch.
  • Coordinate the transfer of merchandise between locations to meet customer needs.
  • Stock shelves and maintain welcoming showroom displays to provide an excellent customer experience.
  • Coordinate cylinder movement and pallet organization.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in product, warehouse, or sales environments (equivalent combination of education and unique life experience may also be considered).
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
  • Experience in industrial retail, inside sales, or inventory control is a plus.
  • Attention to detail in handling transactions.
  • Availability for occasional overtime when the team needs extra support.
  • Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or equivalent required.

Skills

  • A background in gas, welding, or safety supplies is a wonderful asset.
  • Familiarity with SAP, Google, or MS Office Applications.
  • A detailed understanding of SAP and PROS functionalities.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and warmly with a wide variety of people from different backgrounds.

Pay

Targeted Salary Range: $25-$30 per hour with bonus opportunities!

Schedule

Monday - Friday, no weekend work!
