Responsibilities

  • Operate store equipment and handle ingredients.
  • Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk-in cooler.
  • Prepare pizza and other menu items.
  • Receive and process telephone and in-person orders.
  • Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
  • Clean equipment and facility daily.

Requirements

  • Must be 16 years of age or older.
  • Ability to comprehend and give correct written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong communication skills for processing orders over the phone and in person.
  • Basic math skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly (may use calculator).
  • Ability to make correct monetary change.
  • Motor coordination for rapid and precise movements (e.g., entering orders, handling pizza dough).

Work Conditions

  • Exposure to varying weather conditions when performing outside tasks (e.g., removing trash).
  • In-store temperatures range from 36°F in the cooler to 90°F+ in work areas, with sudden temperature changes.
  • Exposure to food odors, cornmeal dust, and cramped quarters (e.g., walk-in cooler).
  • Hot surfaces/tools (oven temperatures up to 500°F or higher).
  • Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.
  • Tasks require talking/hearing on the phone, near/mid-range vision, depth perception, and the ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces.
  • Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone or with others, handle stress, meet quality standards, and make judgments/decisions.

Physical Requirements

  • Standing: Most tasks performed while standing on ceramic tile or linoleum surfaces.
  • Walking: Short distances for brief durations.
  • Sitting: Paperwork completed at a desk or table.
  • Lifting: Unload deliveries (up to 50 lbs) using a hand truck; stack cases onto shelves up to 72" high.
  • Carrying: Large cans (3 lbs, 7 oz), pizza sauce (30 lbs), and trays of pizza dough (12 lbs per tray, carried three at a time).
  • Pushing/Pulling: Move trays on dollies (force up to 7.5 lbs).
  • Climbing: Infrequent use of stairs or ladders for tasks like changing prices or cleaning.
  • Stooping/Bending: Forward bending at pizza assembly station (30–45 seconds at a time, repeated continuously).
  • Crouching/Squatting: Occasionally to stock shelves or clean low areas.
  • Reaching: Continuously in all directions (up, down, forward) for tasks like turning oven controls, stocking ingredients, or answering phones.
  • Hand Tasks: Eye-hand coordination essential; frequent use of hands for shaping dough, using pizza peel/cutter, assembling boxes, and handling cans/phones.

Tools and Equipment

  • Pencils/pens, computers, telephones, calculators, TDD equipment.
  • Pizza cutter, pizza peel, and other kitchen tools.
