Responsibilities

  • Operate all store equipment.
  • Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk-in cooler.
  • Prepare product (e.g., pizzas).
  • Receive and process telephone orders.
  • Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
  • Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.

Requirements

  • Must be 16 years of age or older.
  • Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
  • Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
  • Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide) and ability to make correct monetary change.
  • Motor coordination for rapid, precise movements (e.g., entering orders via keyboard/touch screen).

Work Conditions

  • Exposure to:
    • Varying/adverse weather conditions (e.g., removing trash outside).
    • In-store temperatures ranging from 36°F (cooler) to 90°F+ (work areas).
    • Sudden temperature changes.
    • Food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped quarters (e.g., walk-in cooler).
    • Hot surfaces/tools (ovens up to 500°F+).
    • Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.
  • Sensory Requirements:
    • Talking/hearing on the phone.
    • Near/mid-range vision for most tasks.
    • Depth perception.
    • Ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces.
  • Temperament:
    • Direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone or with others.
    • Work under stress, meet quality control standards.
    • Deal with people, analyze/compile data, make judgments/decisions.

Physical Requirements

  • Standing: Most tasks performed standing (ceramic tile/linoleum floors; work surfaces 36"–48" high).
  • Walking: Short distances/durations.
  • Sitting: Paperwork completed at a desk/table.
  • Lifting:
    • Unload bulk deliveries (cases up to 50 lbs, 3' x 1.5') using a hand truck; stack onto shelves up to 72" high.
    • Carry 3-lb cans, 30-lb pizza sauce, or trays of dough (12 lbs/tray, 3 trays at a time).
  • Pushing/Pulling: Trays on dollies (24"–30" high, up to 7.5 lbs of force).
  • Climbing: Infrequent use of stairs/ladder (e.g., changing signs, maintenance).
  • Stooping/Bending:
    • Forward bending at pizza assembly station (30–45 seconds continuously).
    • Bending at front counter or when stocking ingredients.
  • Crouching/Squatting: Occasionally (e.g., stocking shelves, cleaning low areas).
  • Reaching: Continuously (up, down, forward); above 72" for oven controls/signs.
  • Hand Tasks:
    • Eye-hand coordination essential; continuous use of hands.
    • Frequent/forceful use of forearms/wrists (e.g., shaping dough, using pizza peel/cutter).
    • Pinching (e.g., assembling pizza boxes).
    • Grasping objects (cans, phone, pizza cutter/peel, boxes).
  • Tools/Equipment: Pencils/pens, computers, phones, calculators, TDD equipment, pizza cutter, pizza peel.

Training

Orientation and on-the-job training provided.
