Responsibilities

  • Operate all store equipment.
  • Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk-in cooler.
  • Prepare product (pizzas and other menu items).
  • Receive and process telephone orders.
  • Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
  • Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
  • Verbal communication skills to process orders over the phone and in person.
  • Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide) and ability to make correct monetary change.
  • Motor coordination for rapid and precise movements (e.g., using a keyboard or touch screen).
  • Must be at least 16 years of age or older.

Work Conditions

  • Exposure to varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when performing outside tasks (e.g., removing trash).
  • In-store temperatures range from 36°F in the cooler to 90°F+ in some work areas, with sudden temperature changes.
  • Exposure to food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped quarters (e.g., walk-in cooler), hot surfaces/tools (up to 500°F+), and sharp/moving mechanical parts.
  • Requires talking and hearing on the phone, near and mid-range vision, depth perception, and the ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces.
  • Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone or with others, handle stress, meet quality control standards, and make judgments and decisions.

Physical Requirements

  • Standing: Most tasks are performed standing on ceramic tile or linoleum surfaces.
  • Walking: Short distances for short durations.
  • Sitting: Paperwork is completed at a desk or table.
  • Lifting: Unload bulk deliveries (up to 50 lbs) using a hand truck; stack cases onto shelves up to 72" high.
  • Carrying: Carry 3-lb cans, 30-lb pizza sauce, or trays of pizza dough (12 lbs per tray, 3 trays at a time).
  • Pushing/Pulling: Move trays on dollies (force up to 7.5 lbs).
  • Climbing: Infrequently use stairs or ladders for tasks like changing prices or cleaning.
  • Stooping/Bending: Forward bending at the waist (e.g., pizza assembly, stocking ingredients) for 30–45 seconds at a time, repeated throughout the day.
  • Crouching/Squatting: Occasionally to stock shelves or clean low areas.
  • Reaching: Continuously reach up, down, and forward (e.g., turning oven controls, scooping ingredients, answering phones).
  • Hand Tasks: Eye-hand coordination for shaping dough, using pizza peels, cutting pizzas, assembling boxes, and handling tools/equipment (e.g., phones, calculators, pizza cutters).

Training and orientation are provided on the job.
