Responsibilities
- Operate all store equipment.
- Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk-in cooler.
- Prepare product (pizzas, dough, toppings, etc.).
- Receive and process telephone orders.
- Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
- Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
Training
Orientation and on-the-job training provided.
Requirements
- Must be 16 years of age or older.
- Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
- Verbal and telephone communication skills to process orders over the phone and in person.
- Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide) and ability to make correct monetary change.
- Motor coordination for rapid, precise movements (e.g., entering orders on a computer or touch screen).
Work Conditions
- Exposure to:
- Varying/adverse weather when performing outside tasks (e.g., removing trash).
- In-store temperatures ranging from 36°F in the cooler to 90°F+ in work areas.
- Sudden temperature changes.
- Food odors, cornmeal dust, and cramped quarters (e.g., walk-in cooler).
- Hot surfaces/tools (ovens up to 500°F or higher).
- Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.
- Sensory Requirements:
- Talking/hearing on the phone.
- Near/mid-range vision for most tasks.
- Depth perception and ability to differentiate hot/cold surfaces.
- Temperament:
- Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, and work alone or with others.
- Work under stress, meet quality control standards, and handle people.
- Analyze/compile data and make judgments/decisions.
Physical Requirements
- Standing: Most tasks performed while standing on ceramic tile/linoleum.
- Walking: Short distances for short durations.
- Sitting: Paperwork completed at a desk or table.
- Lifting:
- Unload bulk deliveries (up to 50 lbs) using a hand truck; stack onto shelves up to 72" high.
- Carry large cans (3 lbs, 7 oz), pizza sauce (30 lbs), or trays of dough (12 lbs per tray).
- Pushing/Pulling: Move trays on dollies (force up to 7.5 lbs).
- Climbing: Infrequent use of stairs/ladder for maintenance or sign changes.
- Stooping/Bending:
- Forward bending at pizza assembly station (30–45 seconds at a time, repeated continuously).
- Bending at front counter or when stocking ingredients.
- Crouching/Squatting: Occasionally to stock shelves or clean low areas.
- Reaching: Continuously in all directions (up, down, forward) for tasks like scooping ingredients, cleaning, or answering phones.
- Hand Tasks:
- Eye-hand coordination essential for shaping dough, using pizza peel/cutter, and assembling boxes.
- Frequent/forceful pinching, grasping (cans, phone, tools, boxes).
- Tools/Equipment: Pencils/pens, computers, phones, calculators, TDD equipment, pizza cutter, pizza peel.
