Responsibilities

  • Operate store equipment and prepare pizza products.
  • Stock ingredients from delivery areas to storage, work areas, and walk-in coolers.
  • Receive and process telephone and in-person orders.
  • Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
  • Clean equipment and facility daily.
  • Handle monetary transactions, including making correct change.
  • Enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.

Requirements

  • Must be 16 years of age or older.
  • Ability to comprehend and give correct written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong communication skills for processing orders over the phone and in person.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) for handling transactions.
  • Motor coordination for rapid and precise movements, such as handling pizza dough and using equipment.

Work Conditions

  • Exposure to varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when performing outside tasks (e.g., removing trash).
  • In-store temperatures range from 36°F in coolers to 90°F or higher in work areas, with sudden temperature changes.
  • Exposure to food odors, cornmeal dust, and cramped quarters (e.g., walk-in cooler).
  • Hot surfaces and tools (ovens up to 500°F or higher) and sharp edges/moving mechanical parts.
  • Tasks require talking and hearing on the phone, near and mid-range vision, depth perception, and the ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces.

  • Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, and work alone or with others.
  • Work under stress, meet quality control standards, and interact effectively with customers and coworkers.
  • Analyze and compile data, make judgments, and decisions.

Physical Requirements

  • Standing: Most tasks are performed standing on ceramic tile or linoleum surfaces.
  • Walking: Short distances for brief durations.
  • Sitting: Paperwork is completed at a desk or table.
  • Lifting: Unload bulk deliveries (up to 50 lbs) using a hand truck; stack cases onto shelves up to 72" high.
  • Carrying: Transport large cans (3 lbs, 7 oz), pizza sauce (30 lbs), and trays of pizza dough (12 lbs per tray, carried three at a time).
  • Pushing/Pulling: Move trays on dollies (requiring up to 7.5 lbs of force).
  • Climbing: Infrequently use stairs or ladders for tasks like changing prices or performing maintenance.
  • Stooping/Bending: Forward bending at the waist (e.g., pizza assembly, stocking ingredients) for 30–45 seconds at a time, repeated throughout the day.
  • Crouching/Squatting: Occasionally to stock shelves or clean low areas.
  • Reaching: Continuously reach up, down, and forward (e.g., turning oven controls, scooping ingredients, answering phones).
  • Hand Tasks: Eye-hand coordination is essential; frequent use of hands for shaping dough, using pizza peels, cutting tools, and assembling boxes. Requires forceful pinching, grasping, and manipulation of objects.

  • Pencils/pens, computers, telephones, calculators, TDD equipment.
