Responsibilities

• Operate all store equipment.
• Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk-in cooler.
• Prepare product, including shaping pizza dough and assembling orders.
• Receive and process telephone and in-person orders.
• Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
• Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
• Handle monetary transactions, including making correct change.
• Use computer systems or touch screens to enter orders.

Requirements

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Ability to comprehend and give correct written and verbal instructions.
• Strong communication skills for processing orders over the phone and in person.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) for handling transactions and inventory.
• Motor coordination for rapid, precise movements (e.g., using a pizza peel, entering orders).

Work Conditions

• Environmental Exposure:
  • Varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when performing outside tasks (e.g., removing trash).
  • In-store temperatures range from 36°F in coolers to 90°F+ in work areas, with sudden temperature changes.
  • Exposure to food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped quarters (e.g., walk-in cooler), and hot surfaces/tools (ovens up to 500°F+).
  • Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.
• Sensory Requirements:
  • Talking and hearing on the phone and in person.
  • Near and mid-range vision for tasks like reading orders and assembling pizzas.
  • Depth perception for handling equipment and ingredients.
  • Ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces.
• Temperament:
  • Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, and work alone or with others.

Physical Requirements

• Standing: Most tasks are performed while standing on ceramic tile or linoleum surfaces. Work surfaces range from 36" to 48" in height.
• Walking: Short distances and durations, primarily within the store.
• Sitting: Paperwork is completed at a desk or table in an office area.
• Lifting:
  • Bulk deliveries (cases of ingredients/supplies) weighing up to 50 lbs, lifted from the floor to shelves up to 72" high.
  • Large cans (3 lbs, 7 oz) carried from workstation to storage.
  • Pizza sauce (30 lbs) carried from storage to the front of the store.
  • Pizza dough trays (12 lbs each) carried three at a time over short distances.
• Pushing/Pulling:
  • Trays on dollies (stacked 24"–30" high) require up to 7.5 lbs of force to push or pull.
• Climbing: Infrequent use of stairs or ladders for tasks like changing signs, washing walls, or performing maintenance.
• Stooping/Bending:
  • Forward bending at the waist (e.g., pizza assembly station, stocking ingredients).
  • Duration: 30–45 seconds at a time, repeated continuously during the day.
• Crouching/Squatting: Occasionally required for stocking shelves or cleaning low areas.
• Reaching:
  • Continuous reaching in all directions (up, down, forward).
  • Reaching above 72" for tasks like adjusting oven controls or changing prices on signs.
