Responsibilities

• Operate all store equipment.
• Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk-in cooler.
• Prepare product (e.g., pizzas).
• Receive and process telephone orders.
• Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
• Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.

Requirements

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
• Strong verbal communication skills for processing orders over the phone and in person.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and ability to make correct monetary change.
• Motor coordination for rapid and precise movements (e.g., entering orders via keyboard or touch screen).

Work Conditions

• Exposure to:
  • Varying and adverse weather conditions (e.g., removing trash, outside tasks).
  • In-store temperatures ranging from 36°F in coolers to 90°F+ in work areas.
  • Sudden temperature changes.
  • Food odors and cornmeal dust.
  • Cramped quarters (e.g., walk-in cooler).
  • Hot surfaces/tools (ovens up to 500°F or higher).
  • Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.
• Sensory Requirements:
  • Talking and hearing on the phone.
  • Near and mid-range vision for most tasks.
  • Depth perception.
  • Ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces.
• Temperament:
  • Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, and work alone or with others.

Physical Requirements

• Standing: Most tasks performed while standing on ceramic tile or linoleum.
• Walking: Short distances for short durations.
• Sitting: Paperwork completed at a desk or table.
• Lifting:
  • Unload bulk deliveries (cases up to 50 lbs, dimensions up to 3' x 1.5').
  • Stack cases from floor to shelves up to 72" high.
• Carrying:
  • Large cans (3 lbs, 7 oz) from workstation to storage.
  • Pizza sauce (30 lbs) from storage to front of store.
  • Pizza dough trays (12 lbs per tray, carried three at a time).
• Pushing/Pulling: Trays on dollies (stacks of 24–30 trays, requiring up to 7.5 lbs of force).
• Climbing: Infrequent use of stairs or ladders (e.g., changing prices, washing walls, maintenance).
• Stooping/Bending:
  • Forward bending at pizza assembly station (30–45 seconds at a time, repeated continuously).
  • Bending at front counter and while stocking ingredients.
• Crouching/Squatting: Occasionally to stock shelves or clean low areas.
• Reaching: Continuously in all directions (up, down, forward) for tasks like scooping ingredients, cleaning, or answering phones.
• Hand Tasks:
  • Eye-hand coordination essential for shaping dough, using pizza peel, and assembling boxes.
  • Frequent/forceful use of forearms, wrists, and pinching motions.
  • Grasping objects like cans, phones, pizza cutters, peels, and boxes.
• Tools/Equipment: Pencils/pens, computers, telephones, calculators, TDD equipment, pizza cutters, and pizza peels.
