Responsibilities

  • Operate all store equipment.
  • Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk-in cooler.
  • Prepare product, including pizzas and other menu items.
  • Receive and process telephone orders.
  • Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
  • Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
  • For Delivery Roles:
    • Deliver pizzas and beverages to customers within a designated area.
    • Distribute flyers and door hangers.
    • Navigate stairs or multiple flights of stairs during deliveries.

Requirements

  • Must be 16 years of age or older.
  • Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
  • Strong verbal communication skills for processing orders over the phone and in person.
  • Basic math skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly (may use a calculator).
  • Ability to make correct monetary change.
  • Motor coordination for rapid and precise movements, including using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
  • For Delivery Roles:
    • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record meeting company standards.
    • Access to an insured vehicle for deliveries.

Work Conditions

  • Exposure to varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when performing outside tasks (e.g., removing trash).
  • In-store temperatures range from 36°F in the cooler to 90°F or above in some work areas, with sudden temperature changes.
  • Exposure to food odors, cornmeal dust, and cramped quarters (e.g., walk-in cooler).
  • Hot surfaces and tools, including ovens up to 500°F or higher.
  • Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.
  • Sensory requirements:
    • Talking and hearing on the telephone.
    • Near and mid-range vision for most tasks.
    • Depth perception and ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces.
  • Temperament requirements:
    • Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, and work alone or with others.
    • Work under stress and meet strict quality control standards.
    • Analyze and compile data, make judgments, and decisions.

Physical Requirements

  • Standing: Most tasks are performed from a standing position on ceramic tile or linoleum surfaces. Work surfaces range from 36" to 48" in height.
  • Walking: Short distances for short durations, including between the store and delivery vehicle or customer locations.
  • Sitting: Paperwork is completed at a desk or table in an office area.
  • Lifting:
    • Unload bulk product deliveries (up to 50 pounds) using a hand truck.
    • Lift cases of ingredients and supplies from the floor to shelves up to 72" high.
    • Carry large cans (3 lbs, 7 oz), pizza sauce (30 lbs), and trays of pizza dough (12 lbs per tray).
    • During delivery, carry pizzas and beverages.
  • Pushing/Pulling: Move trays on dollies (requiring up to 7.5 pounds of force).
  • Climbing: Navigate stairs or ladders for tasks like changing prices, washing walls, or performing maintenance. Delivery roles may require climbing five or more flights of stairs.
  • Stooping/Bending: Forward bending at the waist (e.g., pizza assembly station, front counter, stocking ingredients). Duration: 30-45 seconds at a time, repeated continuously.
  • Crouching/Squatting: Occasionally performed for stocking shelves or cleaning low areas.
  • Reaching: Continuously performed in all directions (up, down, forward) for tasks like turning on oven controls, changing prices, lifting objects, scooping ingredients, or answering phones.

  • Pizza cutter, pizza peel.
  • For Delivery Roles: Insured vehicle for deliveries.
