Responsibilities
- Operate all store equipment.
- Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk-in cooler.
- Prepare product (e.g., pizzas).
- Receive and process telephone orders.
- Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
- Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
Requirements
- Must be 16 years of age or older.
- Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
- Verbal communication skills to process orders over the phone and in person.
- Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide) and ability to make correct monetary change.
- Motor coordination for rapid and precise movements (e.g., entering orders on a keyboard or touch screen).
Work Conditions
- Exposure to varying weather conditions when performing outside tasks (e.g., removing trash).
- In-store temperatures range from 36°F in coolers to 90°F+ in work areas, with sudden temperature changes.
- Exposure to food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped quarters (e.g., walk-in cooler), and hot surfaces/tools (ovens up to 500°F+).
- Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.
Sensory and Cognitive Requirements
- Talking and hearing on the telephone.
- Near and mid-range vision for most in-store tasks, including depth perception.
- Ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces.
- Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone or with others, handle stress, meet quality control standards, and make judgments/decisions.
Physical Requirements
- Standing: Most tasks are performed standing, with work surfaces between 36" and 48" high.
- Walking: Short distances on ceramic tile or linoleum surfaces.
- Sitting: Paperwork is completed at a desk or table.
- Lifting: Unloading deliveries (up to 50 lbs), stacking cases onto shelves up to 72" high. Carrying 3-lb cans, 30-lb pizza sauce, or trays of dough (12 lbs per tray).
- Pushing/Pulling: Moving trays on dollies (force up to 7.5 lbs).
- Climbing: Infrequent use of stairs or ladders for maintenance or sign changes.
- Stooping/Bending: Forward bending at the waist (e.g., pizza assembly, stocking ingredients).
- Crouching/Squatting: Occasionally to stock shelves or clean low areas.
- Reaching: Continuously in all directions (e.g., turning oven controls, lifting objects, scooping ingredients).
- Hand Tasks: Eye-hand coordination for shaping dough, using pizza peels, cutting tools, and assembling boxes. Frequent pinching, grasping, and forceful use of forearms/wrists.
