Customer Service Phone Representative (Temp to Hire)
Overview
Patelco Credit Union is a not-for-profit credit union founded in 1936. It is the 7th largest credit union in California with branches throughout Northern California. The credit union aims to support its members through various stages of life with financial planning and advocacy.
Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional service to both internal and external members, aligning with the credit union's mission, vision, and values.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of Patelco products, services, fees, policies, and procedures.
- Aid members with phone inquiries on accounts and loans.
- Process member requests over the phone such as payments and transfers.
- Actively listen and seek to understand member financial needs, questions, and concerns.
- Note systems of record for each interaction and create service requests as needed.
- Help members with troubleshooting basic online banking and mobile issues including user ID and password resets.
- Identify needs and offer products and services that improve the financial well-being of our members.
- Understand and comply with all applicable federal and state laws and banking regulations (including those related to OFAC and Bank Secrecy Act / Anti-Money Laundering compliance) and Patelco Credit Union’s policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- One or more years of customer service experience (preferably in financial institutions or contact centers).
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a plus.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Strong commitment to consistent attendance and punctuality.
- Proficient on PC, MS Office Products, and email.
- Business professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail oriented, well organized, a team player, and self-starter.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced call center.
- Minimum of a HS Diploma/GED.
Target Base Pay
$22 / hour
