Customer Service Parcel Specialist

About the role

This team member will coordinate inbound and outbound package activities for the in-center parcel management operation, including receiving, processing, staging, and delivering packages using an electronic last-mile tracking system with limited supervision. The role involves regular interaction with venue staff and event customers, proficiency with various computer systems, and the ability to meet the physical demands of the position. This team member will also perform all functions of Center Consultant team members.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all shipping-related services and activities, including maintaining logs of incoming and outgoing parcels, preparing parcels for pickup, and sorting incoming parcels.
  • Utilize proprietary software and equipment to execute job functions.
  • Operate and maintain mobile equipment assigned on a daily basis (where applicable).
  • Pick up and deliver customer packages throughout the facility.
  • Provide customer service by anticipating needs, suggesting alternatives, and resolving issues with minimal supervision.
  • Assemble parcels and prepare goods for shipping, including wrapping, weighing, and labeling.
  • Operate pallet jacks and other large package-handling equipment (where applicable).
  • Follow all equipment safety and package security guidelines.
  • Determine appropriate shipping methods and inform customers about company products, services, routes, and rates.
  • Maintain inventory of shipping supplies and set priorities for customer requests.
  • Resolve customer service issues, including refunds and mislabeled packages.
  • Troubleshoot routine equipment problems.
  • Provide leadership on assigned shifts and direct the work of other team members.
  • Perform multiple tasks simultaneously and follow supervisor instructions.
  • Collate, sort, and organize communications and information from customers and the venue.
  • Assist in training center team members.
  • Operate the point-of-sale (POS) terminal to collect package-handling fees and perform daily close-out procedures.
  • Perform administrative duties such as bidding, ordering supplies, and inventory control.
  • Operate photocopy, binding, and other business center equipment.
  • Take customer orders, provide pricing information, and perform consultative selling.
  • Explain the benefits of digital printing technology to customers.
  • Pick up and deliver customer orders while adhering to copying protocols (e.g., copyright law, confidentiality).
  • Prepare bank deposit slips.
  • Perform all other duties as needed or requested.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education.
  • Minimum six months of related experience (warehouse and/or hospitality experience preferred).
  • Strong organization and planning skills.
  • Action-oriented with a focus on customer service and results.
  • Professional communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to accurately record information in an electronic tracking system with 100% accuracy.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Ability to pass OSHA certification for applicable equipment.
  • Ability to move 75 pounds unassisted and maneuver heavier packages with assistance or equipment.
  • Physical stamina to walk up to 10 miles per shift.

Essential Functions

  • Ability to stand during entire shift, excluding meal and rest periods.
  • Ability to move and lift 75 pounds consistently.
  • Ability to bend and twist at the waist and knees on a consistent basis.
  • Effective communication with customers, vendors, partners, and team members.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment under substantial pressure.
  • Ability to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Consistent and efficient performance of general duties and responsibilities.
  • Regular attendance and maintenance of established business hours.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in warehouse or hospitality environments.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience.

Pay

$18.35 - $21.57 per hour.
