About the role

Banyule Leisure is seeking a Customer Service Officer to join its team and enhance the positive experiences for members, visitors, and the community.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome customers and provide friendly, accurate, and professional service.
  • Respond to enquiries and help customers find the right programs, memberships, products, and services.
  • Process bookings, payments, point-of-sale transactions, and basic administration.
  • Support reception, merchandise, and café operations, including stock control and coffee making.
  • Keep customer areas clean, tidy, well-presented, and safe.
  • Assist with programs, promotional activities, and the general running of Banyule Leisure facilities.

Requirements

  • A positive, practical, and community-minded approach.
  • The confidence to work in a busy customer service environment.
  • A commitment to Banyule Leisure’s values and a keen interest in promoting health and fitness of our customers and the wider community.
  • A strong customer service focus and ability to multitask in a busy and dynamic environment.
  • Excellent phone manner, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to discuss customer needs and identify the best service for them within Banyule Leisure, including well-developed conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience in customer service, membership sales, cash handling, and administration (desirable).
  • Experience in the leisure facility industry (desirable).

Qualifications

  • Level 2 First Aid (Apply First Aid).
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Pre Employment Checks.
  • Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC).
  • Pre-Employment Medical Check.
  • Working with children check.

What’s On Offer

  • A permanent part-time role with shifts available Wednesday to Sunday.
  • $36.79 to $38.54 per hour plus super (depending on experience).
  • Primary work location Ivanhoe Aquatic, and Olympic Leisure Centre.
  • Consistency in shifts, working on a part-time basis with the potential to pick up extra shifts.
