Customer Service Officer - Banyule Leisure
About the role
Banyule Leisure is seeking a Customer Service Officer to join its team and enhance the positive experiences for members, visitors, and the community.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers and provide friendly, accurate, and professional service.
- Respond to enquiries and help customers find the right programs, memberships, products, and services.
- Process bookings, payments, point-of-sale transactions, and basic administration.
- Support reception, merchandise, and café operations, including stock control and coffee making.
- Keep customer areas clean, tidy, well-presented, and safe.
- Assist with programs, promotional activities, and the general running of Banyule Leisure facilities.
Requirements
- A positive, practical, and community-minded approach.
- The confidence to work in a busy customer service environment.
- A commitment to Banyule Leisure’s values and a keen interest in promoting health and fitness of our customers and the wider community.
- A strong customer service focus and ability to multitask in a busy and dynamic environment.
- Excellent phone manner, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to discuss customer needs and identify the best service for them within Banyule Leisure, including well-developed conflict resolution skills.
- Experience in customer service, membership sales, cash handling, and administration (desirable).
- Experience in the leisure facility industry (desirable).
Qualifications
- Level 2 First Aid (Apply First Aid).
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Pre Employment Checks.
- Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC).
- Pre-Employment Medical Check.
- Working with children check.
What’s On Offer
- A permanent part-time role with shifts available Wednesday to Sunday.
- $36.79 to $38.54 per hour plus super (depending on experience).
- Primary work location Ivanhoe Aquatic, and Olympic Leisure Centre.
- Consistency in shifts, working on a part-time basis with the potential to pick up extra shifts.
