Customer Service Clerk

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking a Customer Service Representative to work at our Rock Hill, SC Service Center. The primary responsibilities include maintaining a positive relationship with customers, assisting customers and other R&L employees in tracking and monitoring freight movement, using customer retention techniques, and performing other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Maintain positive relationships with customers
• Absorb and respond to customer inquiries and concerns
• Track and monitor freight movement with customers
• Assist other terminals in freight-related issues
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Strong communication/telephone skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong critical thinking skills
• Ability to deal with potentially stressful situations
• General office and customer service experience
• Basic knowledge or Windows, Outlook and other Microsoft products
• Ability to type 30+ WPM
• Prior 2+ years of experience as a clerk or similar role in a fast-paced environment
• Freight logistics experience preferred

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check

Pay

$20.42 per hour

Schedule

1st Shift, Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
