About the role
The Customer Service Representative (CSR) works at the R+L Carriers Wheeling, IL Service Center. The primary responsibilities include maintaining positive relationships with customers, assisting with freight movement tracking, and resolving customer issues.
Responsibilities
- Maintain positive relationships with customers
- Aid customers and other R & L employees in tracking and monitoring freight movement
- Use customer retention techniques to ensure customers feel valued and listened to
- Resolve customer issues and promote company goals and objectives
- Daily freight tracing with customers
- Assist other terminals in freight-related issues
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Strong communication/telephone skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Ability to deal with potentially stressful situations
- General office and customer service experience
- Basic knowledge or Windows, Outlook and other Microsoft products
- Ability to type 30+ WPM
- PREFERRED: 2+ years of experience as a clerk or similar role in a fast-paced environment
- Freight logistics experience
