Customer Service Clerk

About the role

The Customer Service Representative (CSR) works at the R+L Carriers Wheeling, IL Service Center. The primary responsibilities include maintaining positive relationships with customers, assisting with freight movement tracking, and resolving customer issues.

Responsibilities

• Maintain positive relationships with customers
• Aid customers and other R & L employees in tracking and monitoring freight movement
• Use customer retention techniques to ensure customers feel valued and listened to
• Resolve customer issues and promote company goals and objectives
• Daily freight tracing with customers
• Assist other terminals in freight-related issues
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Strong communication/telephone skills
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong critical thinking skills
• Ability to deal with potentially stressful situations
• General office and customer service experience
• Basic knowledge or Windows, Outlook and other Microsoft products
• Ability to type 30+ WPM
• PREFERRED: 2+ years of experience as a clerk or similar role in a fast-paced environment
• Freight logistics experience

Full-time, Monday - Friday, 8:30am-5pm
