Customer Service Clerk

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking a Customer Service Representative to work at our Colonial Heights, VA Service Center. The primary responsibilities include maintaining a positive relationship with customers, assisting customers and other R&L employees in tracking and monitoring freight movement, using customer retention techniques, and performing other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Maintain positive relationships with customers
• Aid customers and other terminals in freight-related issues
• Perform daily freight tracing with customers
• Resolve customer issues and promote company goals and objectives

Requirements

• Strong communication/telephone skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong critical thinking skills
• Ability to handle potentially stressful situations
• General office and customer service experience
• Basic knowledge of Windows, Outlook, and other Microsoft products
• Type at least 30 WPM
• Preferred 2+ years of experience as a clerk or similar role in a fast-paced environment
• Freight logistics experience preferred

• Valid driver’s license

$20.42 per hour

1st Shift, Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
