About the role
Vitalant is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing vital clinical services, products, and scientific research to communities nationwide. The Donor Care Technician I - Phlebotomist position involves traveling to regional blood drives and working directly with donors to collect blood and blood products.
Responsibilities
- Welcome, educate, and care for donors throughout the donation process.
- Perform blood collections while ensuring donor safety, comfort, and confidence.
- Maintain accurate records and adhere to quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Drive company vehicles and set up and operate equipment at mobile blood drive locations.
- Contribute to a mission-focused team committed to ensuring blood availability.
Requirements
- High School graduate or GED.
- Valid in-state driver's license and suitable driving record.
- Personal reliable transportation.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Basic working knowledge of Windows operating system, keyboard usage, and PC.
- Ability to read and comprehend written procedures and instructions.
- Able to work flexible shifts, varied schedules, overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Good customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and participate as an active team member.
- Ability to travel, as required.
Qualifications
- No prior blood collection experience is required.

Pay
$20.10 per hour.
Schedule
Shift 1 (United States of America), Tuesday - Friday, Full-Time. Must be available to be scheduled between 3am and 10pm. Schedule is based on business needs and is sent three weeks in advance.
Travel
Throughout Northern Arizona, with an average of 1–5 overnight trips per month as needed.
