Customer Service Associate - Temporary

About the Role

This role involves delivering exceptional customer service, managing sales transactions, and maintaining store operations to ensure a positive shopping experience for customers.

Responsibilities

• Engage customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure satisfaction.
• Model and share customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy) and Walgreens service traits (e.g., proactive help, identifying needs, servicing until satisfied).
• Register customer purchases on assigned cash register, handle cash transactions, and process voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges.
• Maintain clean and well-merchandised counters and shelves, take inventory, and keep records.
• Check in and price merchandise as directed.
• Implement asset protection procedures to minimize profit loss.
• Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcohol, tobacco).
• Construct and maintain displays, including promotional, seasonal, and sale merchandise.
• Assist with food item separation and product placement according to policies.
• Rotate stock using the first in, first out method and restock out-of-stock items.
• Provide customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photos, poster prints, and promotional photo products.
• Manage web pick-up orders, including monitoring, filling, and delivering orders to customers.
• Assist with interior and exterior store maintenance to ensure a clean and orderly appearance.
• Comply with company policies and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
• Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

• Six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prior work experience with Walgreens.

Salary Range: $15 - $17.5 / Hourly
