Customer Service Associate - Temporary

About the Role

This role focuses on delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring efficient operations, and maintaining a well-organized store environment. The position involves engaging with customers, handling sales transactions, and supporting various store functions to enhance the overall shopping experience.

Responsibilities

• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Model and share customer service best practices, including interpersonal habits (greeting, eye contact, courtesy) and Walgreens service traits (proactive help, identifying needs, servicing until satisfied).
• Register customer purchases on assigned cash register, handle cash transactions, and process voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges.
• Keep counters and shelves clean, well-merchandised, and stocked; take inventory and maintain records.
• Check in and price merchandise as directed by the store manager or shift leader.
• Implement asset protection procedures to minimize profit loss.
• Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcohol, tobacco).
• Construct and maintain displays, including promotional, seasonal, and sale merchandise; complete resets and revisions as directed.
• Assist with food item separation and product placement according to policies (e.g., raw and frozen meats on bottom shelves).
• Rotate stock for consumable items using the first in, first out method and restock outs.
• Provide customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photos, poster prints, and promotional photo products.
• Manage web pick-up responsibilities: monitor orders, fill orders, and deliver them to customers.
• Assist with interior and exterior store maintenance to ensure a clean, neat, and orderly appearance.
• Comply with company policies and procedures; maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
• Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

• Six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prior work experience with Walgreens.

Pay

Salary Range: $16 - $20.5 / Hourly
