Customer Service Associate - Temporary

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient checkout service; register sales, handle cash, and process voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges.
• Greet and assist customers and patients, answer questions, and resolve issues to ensure a positive experience.
• Model and share customer‑service best practices, including interpersonal habits (greeting, eye contact, courtesy) and Walgreens service traits (proactive help, need identification, servicing until satisfied).
• Recommend items, trade‑up or companion products to customers.
• Keep counters and shelves clean and well‑merchandised; take inventory, maintain records; check‑in and price merchandise as directed by the store manager or shift leader.
• Implement company asset‑protection procedures to identify and minimize profit loss.
• Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcoholic beverages and tobacco).
• Construct and maintain displays, including promotional, seasonal, super‑structure, and sale merchandise; complete resets and revisions as directed.
• Assist with separation of food items and product placement per policies (e.g., raw and frozen meats on bottom shelves); rotate consumable stock using the first‑in, first‑out method.
• Provide customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photo service, poster printing, creative machine usage, and suggestive selling of promotional photo products.
• Handle web pick‑up responsibilities: monitor orders in Picture Care Plus, pick items, and deliver orders to customers arriving in‑store.
• Assist with exterior and interior store maintenance to ensure a clean, neat, and orderly appearance.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures; maintain respectful relationships with coworkers; complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
• Attend training and complete PPLs requested by the manager or assigned by corporate.

Requirements

• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Preferred: at least six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Preferred: prior work experience with Walgreens.
• For San Francisco, CA applicants: consideration under the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance for candidates with arrest or conviction records.

Pay

Salary Range: $15 – $17.5 per hour.
