Customer Service and Warehouse Operator
Job Summary
We are seeking a Customer Service and Warehouse Operator to join our Distribution business in Wichita, KS. This role involves receiving, handling, storing, performing system transactions, and dispatching goods in a factory or warehouse setting.
About the role
This position will make an impact by receiving, inspecting, sorting, labeling, storing, picking, packing, and shipping materials accurately and efficiently. It also includes operating powered industrial equipment, completing inventory transactions, performing quality inspections, supporting customer service and parts sales activities, maintaining a safe work environment, collaborating with teams, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, sort, label, store, pick, pack, and ship materials accurately and efficiently
- Operate powered industrial vehicles and warehouse equipment
- Complete inventory transactions and maintain accurate records using warehouse management systems and business software
- Perform quality inspections on incoming and outgoing materials to identify damage, discrepancies, or non-conforming products
- Support customer service and parts sales activities by assisting customers, processing orders, and responding to product inquiries
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment while adhering to Cummins HSE policies and procedures
- Collaborate with warehouse, parts, operations, and customer service teams to meet business and customer expectations
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, material flow, productivity, and employee development
Requirements
- Experience working in warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, parts, or logistics environments
- Ability to safely operate powered industrial vehicles and warehouse equipment
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform inventory and quality control activities
- Ability to use warehouse systems, scanners, computer applications, and inventory management tools
- Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to assist internal and external customers
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment
- Forklift certification or the ability to obtain required certifications
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Required certifications to operate powered industrial vehicles and/or other heavy machinery
