Responsibilities

Maintain operations of a customer service center including customer interactions, information, concerns, lost and found, fare media inventory, financial transactions, and coordinating office maintenance.

Provide customers with up-to-date information about UTA service subjects.

Handle customer complaints.

Distribute transit schedules.

Sell fare media directly and through outlets.

Work within the organization as a customer advocate to ensure that concerns are addressed and responded to timely.

Work closely with other department representatives and division leaders to identify root causes of customer service issues and to develop solutions to improve service quality and mitigate problems.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two years working with the public in customer service.
  • One year experience handling and reconciling cash and being in a position of trust with demonstrated self-management.
  • Associate’s degree in Business Management or a related field (or 2 additional years of experience working with the public in customer service).

Experience/Education

Preferred experience in investigating and resolving customer complaints.

Basic proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Type 40 WPM and ability to speak a second language preferred.

Knowledge/Skills

Valid Utah driver’s license may be required, with no more than 4 moving violations in the past 3 years and no more than 1 violation of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs within the last ten years.

Pay Rate

$18.13 Per Hour

Work Schedule

The Customer Relations Specialist position is staffed in a Customer Service Center from 5:00 am to 9:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

You may be asked to cover a shift any time during that time window.

Shifts are generally five 8-hour shifts, either 5:30 AM - 1:30 PM , 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, OR 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM Monday through Friday determined by seniority with a shift bid, which occurs on an as-needed basis.

During your paid training, which lasts 4-6 weeks, you will work from 9:00-5:30, M-F.

Your general work schedule will most likely change after training is completed.

You must be willing to work nights, early mornings, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

This job requires an initial and annual credit check.

This job requires regular and predictable attendance.
