How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
This position leads key customer-focused quality activities to ensure products meet customer expectations, performance requirements, and reliability standards. Serves as a primary quality interface with customers by reviewing field issues, warranty data, and customer feedback to drive timely containment, root cause analysis, and corrective actions. Collects and analyzes customer and field data to identify systemic issues and support continuous improvement initiatives by engaging directly with cross functional teams. Engage directly with factory teams at all levels and support quality initiatives that lead to improved performance for key customers.
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
- Work directly with customers and SPX factories on quality issues, as well as engaging supply base and/or internal Supplier Quality resources
- Provide other technical guidance and/or assistance as required
- Develop solutions to problems and new designs
- Leads product quality assurance efforts ensuring conformance to standards & specifications through testing, inspecting, & monitoring key process variables in addition to product characteristics
- Works closely with Team Leaders and Process Engineers to drive improvement in product quality
- Troubleshoots and analyzes process capability. Implements actions to improve equipment quality of production
- Evaluates and implements new technologies aimed at eliminating defects
- Actively support production work teams as required in order to meet world-class quality standards
- Lead timely root cause analysis and 8D to rectify issues timely
- Lead process improvement efforts related to quality across the Americas
- Improve quality system and tools
- Provide technical quality support to improve efficiency, reduce costs and improve quality
- Review customer feedback regularly and implement prioritized actions to resolve concerns
- Provide support to site erection and commissioning teams as needed
- Lead training activities related to quality
- Perform project engineering function, as needed
- Manage projects and schedule tasks
What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)
- Required Experience: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality or related technical field; 5+ years of experience in engineering, quality or related field
- Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent project management skills and ability to lead groups in a matrix organization; Building Customer Loyalty; Continuous Improvement; Demonstrated ability to turn around and lead implementation of best practices including problem identification and resolution, and manufacturing strategies; Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word and Excel; SAP or other ERP system experience preferred

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality or related technical field

- Travel may be required
