About the role
Riverfront location. Customer-facing kiosk. Weekends/Evenings required. We are seeking an experienced, capable and reliable prep/line cook to join the team at our kiosk at Rockwell on the River (3507 N. Rockwell, Chicago).
Job Responsibilities
- Set up and stock stations daily with necessary food and supplies.
- Prepare food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, smoking, grilling, sautéing, and other cooking methods according to specified recipes and standards.
- Maintain cleanliness that complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.
- Perform inventory checks and complete food storage logs as required.
- Prep and send out dine-in and to-go orders in a fast-paced setting.
- Communicate with Soul & Smoke management, customers, and coworkers in a proactive and professional manner.
- Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude.
- Wash and put away dishes.
- Take some orders at POS, answer customer questions, and maintain the dining room.
Requirements
- Must have the ability to work evenings and weekends and be flexible when necessary.
- 2 years of line/prep experience - some fine dining preferred.
- Servsafe and Chicago food manager, Allergen, and Basset certifications required.
- Reliable and timely.
- Able to multitask and keep organized.
- Able to walk/stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
Pay & Benefits
- Pay: Base of $17-20 per hour, plus pooled revenue share ($4-6 per hour additional per hour).
- Full time employees make over $10,000 in revenue share per year.
