Customer Experience Guide - Part Time
Location: Dillon, MT – Retail Store (Customer Service, In-Person)
About the Role
As a Customer Experience Guide, you embody the Patagonia brand for our customers. You engage, develop, implement, and execute operational plans and policies while contributing to daily front-line retail store and customer experience activities such as sales and customer service. You spend most of your time overseeing retail operations and engaging in activities that make customers happy. You’ll learn about our products, share your passion for the community, and contribute to protecting the local environment. Responsibilities
- Brand Advocacy: Use the company’s purpose and core values as guides for decision-making, acting as a brand advocate both inside and outside the store.
- Customer Service: Deliver best-in-class service by centering the customer in everything you do. Utilize selling skills to connect communities to outdoor lifestyles.
- Environmental Activism: Participate in our Activism program by using 18 Activism Hours to support your community, partner with local non-profits, and inspire customers and colleagues to get involved.
- Product and Business Knowledge: Commit to learning about our products, including technical aspects, and actively seek information about new products and services to incorporate into customer interactions.
- Warehouse Duties: Process shipments, support physical inventory, restock the sales floor, assist with sale prep/breakdown, product transfers, and donations.
- Visual Merchandising: Maintain visual store standards by folding, hanging, steaming, dressing mannequins, and stocking the floor.
- Marketing: Participate in the Retail Marketing program by helping with event production and execution and contributing ideas for community engagement.
- Training: Engage in ongoing training to maintain company knowledge and assist in training fellow/new employees while supporting store goals.
- Security and Loss Prevention: Practice security measures to prevent theft, handle safety situations, and maintain a clean, organized, and secure store environment.
- Inclusion: Foster a supportive, positive, respectful, and harassment-free work environment. Be open to feedback and ensure accountability.
- Additional Duties: Ensure accuracy in POS operations, utilize the Ironclad Guarantee and Worn Wear programs, answer phones, support front and back-of-house operations, and assist with in-store repairs.
Qualifications
- Customer Service: Proven customer service and/or sales skills; previous retail or related experience preferred.
- Environmental Passion: Knowledgeable and curious about environmental and social issues; committed to local activism.
- Problem-Solving: Helpful and courteous approach to resolving customer and operational challenges.
- Communication: Effective communication skills with team members and leadership; ability to participate in constructive feedback and conflict management.

- Technical Skills: Basic math and computer skills; accuracy with money handling and register use preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Able to stand/walk for extended periods (shifts up to 8 hours).
- Continually reach overhead, bend, squat, kneel, and carry products for customer service, inventory, and merchandising.
- Able to walk up/down stairs while carrying boxes, products, or other items.
- Regularly perform store maintenance: sweep, vacuum, empty trash, clean.
- Safely lift up to 55 pounds.
- Comfortable climbing ladders.
Pay
$18.60 - $20.60 per hour

Schedule
The Dillon store is open Monday–Saturday, 10 AM–6 PM, and Sunday, 10 AM–5 PM. Current hiring needs are for 20–29 hours per week with open availability Friday–Monday. Shifts may begin or end up to two hours before/after business hours. Schedules vary week-to-week but are posted three weeks in advance to support work-life balance. Punctuality and adherence to the Attendance Policy are required.
