Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Build and assemble wooden crates, boxes, and pallets.
- Package and protect products for shipment.
- Operate forklifts to move crates, boxes, and pallets.
- Organize and optimize space for shipment.
- Label products with shipping information.
Requirements
- A high-school diploma or equivalent.
Other Skills And Abilities
- Ability to use woodworking equipment, such as nail guns and staple guns.
- Ability to operate a forklift.
- Mechanically inclined; ability to work with shop machinery and basic hand tools.
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately to 1/16th of an inch.
- Ability to add and subtract fractions.
- Detail oriented; meets quality standards and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
- Organized; completes work in a timely manner; able to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Problem-solver; gathers and analyzes information skillfully and generates suggestions for improving work.
- Capable of working independently and as a member of a team; contributes to building a positive team spirit.
- Observes and follows safety procedures.
Work Environment And Physical Demands
- Manufacturing Environment: may cause exposure to heat, noise, vibration, odors, dust or moving mechanical parts.
- Physical Demands: Medium to Heavy Work – exerting up to 75 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 35 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 15 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
- Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel materials and equipment.
- Frequent walking, seeing close and at distance, talking, and hearing.
- Required to walk, see close and at distance, and talk and hear.
