Custom Crate Builder - 1st Shift

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Build and assemble wooden crates, boxes, and pallets.
• Package and protect products for shipment.
• Operate forklifts to move crates, boxes, and pallets.
• Organize and optimize space for shipment.
• Label products with shipping information.

Requirements

• A high-school diploma or equivalent.

Other Skills And Abilities

• Ability to use woodworking equipment, such as nail guns and staple guns.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
• Mechanically inclined; ability to work with shop machinery and basic hand tools.
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately to 1/16th of an inch.
• Ability to add and subtract fractions.
• Detail oriented; meets quality standards and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
• Organized; completes work in a timely manner; able to prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Problem-solver; gathers and analyzes information skillfully and generates suggestions for improving work.
• Capable of working independently and as a member of a team; contributes to building a positive team spirit.
• Observes and follows safety procedures.

Work Environment And Physical Demands

• Manufacturing Environment: may cause exposure to heat, noise, vibration, odors, dust or moving mechanical parts.
• Physical Demands: Medium to Heavy Work – exerting up to 75 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 35 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 15 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
• Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel materials and equipment.
• Frequent walking, seeing close and at distance, talking, and hearing.
• Required to walk, see close and at distance, and talk and hear.
