Custodian (Part-Time)

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and orderly area using proper methods, equipment, and procedures
• Mop, scrub, sweep, and vacuum floors
• Empty trash, clean and restock restrooms daily
• Clean water fountains daily
• Clean lounges and stairwells
• Report and replace lightbulbs
• Perform other duties as assigned

Schedule

• 4:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. or 6:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m., Monday – Friday (may work occasional weekends)
• 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday

Requirements

• A job offer is contingent on passing a physical examination to determine capability to perform essential functions
• Ability to read and write
• A valid driver’s license may be required for certain positions
• One year of general maintenance and/or custodial experience preferred
• Some knowledge of cleaning methods for equipment and buildings
• Mechanical ability for minor equipment repair
• Daily ability to:
  • Visualize work area and determine tasks
  • Bend, squat, reach, stretch, walk, stand, sit, grasp, and twist repeatedly
  • Climb stairs, step stools, and ladders; climb and descend stairwells
  • Lift, carry, and set down objects of moderate weight (25-50 lbs.)
• Work may include:
  • Areas of extreme temperatures
  • Wearing a backpack vacuum for long periods
  • Wearing protective masks and hearing protection devices
  • Exposure to dust and cleaning chemicals
• Good physical coordination and mechanical aptitude sufficient to perform assigned duties

Pay

$17.12 per hour
