Custodian - Lead

About the role

You will function as a team lead and perform various routine and non-routine custodial/housekeeping tasks requiring moderate physical strength.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-the-job training for custodians
• Requisition and distribute supplies and materials
• Relay instructions from the Buildings/Grounds Supervisor
• Determine the need for special project work to be performed
• Perform simple operation of basic mechanical maintenance on cleaning equipment while adhering to all safety procedures

Requirements

• Experience with custodial or housekeeping work including cleaning and sanitizing

Qualifications

Well-qualified applicants may also have one or more of the following:

• Experience training, leading, overseeing, or directing staff in the use of proper cleaning techniques (e.g., use of cleaning chemicals, use and maintenance of powered cleaning equipment, safety signage, etc.)
• Experience providing customer service to internal and external partners (e.g., responding to inquiries, explaining policies and procedures, resolving issues, etc.) by phone or in person
• Experience using Microsoft Outlook for email communications
