Custodian I - Second Shift - Part-Time (Multiple-Vacancies)

Work Schedule
Monday through Friday, 6:30pm to 11:30pm, and some weekends.
Pay
This position is a grade 7 with a minimum hourly rate of $15.43. The rate is commensurate with education and experience, aligned with the College’s compensation philosophy, and in accordance with the current Collective Bargaining Agreement, if applicable.
Essential Duties
- Perform custodial tasks in various campus buildings, including sweeping, mopping, rinsing, stripping, waxing floors, maintaining restrooms, emptying trash, vacuuming carpets, and cleaning windows.
- Operate mechanical custodial equipment such as sweepers, floor scrubbers, buffers, shampooers, moving equipment, snow blowers, etc.
- Clean light fixtures and lenses when necessary.
- Assist grounds department with snow removal of walks and building entrances and discard miscellaneous waste around buildings and courtyards.
- Assist in facility events with custodial coverage as needed.
- Assist in special cleaning and moving projects due to building renovations and new construction.
- Clean biohazard waste, using proper sanitary and health safety precautions and procedures.
- Lock and unlock buildings and classrooms according to the college's schedule of events.
- Maintain required training, licenses, and certifications.
- Maintain confidentiality of privileged information and adhere to applicable privacy laws.
- Show sensitivity, understanding, and respect for diverse populations within the workplace.
- Maintain an understanding of the work of colleagues to effectively provide backup and support during times of short staffing or increased workload.
- Adhere to department guidelines for attendance and punctuality.
Physical Demands
Medium (up to 50 lbs. occasionally, 30 lbs frequently, 10 lbs constantly).
Moderate noise.
Environmental Conditions: Typical office or administrative, outdoor weather (wet or humid conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, vibration hazards, fumes or airborne particles, close quarters).
