CUSTODIAN I

About the role

The position is part of the Air National Guard branch located at Buckley Air Force Base. The working hours are Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with some pre-planned weekends for 4-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and disinfecting lavatories, sinks, and drinking fountains.
• Sweeping/mopping, stripping, waxing, and sealing floors.
• Vacuuming, spot cleaning, and shampooing carpets.
• Collecting and removing trash.
• Spot cleaning walls and other surfaces.
• Cleaning windows, ledges, and blinds.
• Reordering and replacing cleaning supplies.
• Replenishing and restocking paper products, soap, and other supplies as needed.
• Maintaining cleanliness of entrance and exit areas.
• Auxiliary duties during snow/weather emergencies, such as ensuring floors are dry and securing mat placement.
• Securing storage areas and ensuring supplies and materials are stored in a safe and orderly manner.
• Reporting maintenance issues, equipment in need of repair, building or facility damage, and acts of vandalism.
• Performing minor facility maintenance tasks such as painting, lawn care, and hedge trimming.

Requirements

• Six months of professional custodial experience.
• Must be able to operate and maintain custodial equipment such as buffers, extractors, and floor strippers.
• Must have a valid State of Colorado driver's license.
• Must be able to pass a background investigation.
• Must be willing to submit to random drug and alcohol testing.
• Must be able to obtain a security clearance.
