About the role

Custodial Services supports campus operations by maintaining clean, safe, and functional facilities across Missouri S&T. The department works in coordination with campus units to deliver daily custodial services, facility upkeep, and preparation of spaces for academic and operational use.

Responsibilities

  • Perform duties in the care and cleaning of buildings (e.g., garages, offices, classrooms, entry ways, and restrooms)
  • Clean floors (e.g., sweep, mop, and wax), empty trash receptacles, dust furniture, clean windows and other cleaning related duties
  • Sweep and shovel snow
  • Order cleaning supplies and equipment repairs as needed
  • Prepare rooms for meetings by setting up chairs, tables and necessary equipment
  • Perform building security duties such as locking and unlocking doors, checking windows, turning lights on or off, and report items that need repair to superior
  • May be assigned to work in areas requiring special use of disinfectants, cleaning techniques and sanitation procedures or use of special equipment (e.g. large sweeper, power washers)
  • May be required to lift, carry, and set down objects of moderate weight (25-50 lbs.), grasp broom and mop handles, work around dust and cleaning chemicals, climb stairs, step stools, and ladders
  • May be required to perform duties during a shift from Monday to Friday, 4:00am-8:00am

Requirements

  • Ability to read and write
  • A valid driver's license may be required for certain positions

Qualifications

  • Physical strength, coordination and stamina sufficient to perform assigned duties

Skills

  • Knowledge of various custodial materials, equipment, methods and procedures

Pay

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $15.50 to $15.81 hourly. Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.

Schedule

Shift: Monday-Friday, 4:00am-8:00am
