Custodian (FT)

Responsibilities

• Must be able to work independently and well with others.
• Launder, fold and restock towels.
• Mop, sweep and scrub floors and other surfaces as needed.
• Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, fixtures, windows, doors, trim, and related furnishings.
• Ongoing cleaning and servicing of restrooms and locker rooms.
• Frequent restocking of consumables, towels, and toiletries.
• Report items that require repair.
• Safely operate necessary equipment to perform job tasks (i.e., clothes washer, clothes dryer, elevator, etc.).
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout work area.
• Assist the kitchen with transport of food when needed.
• (i.e., meals, packages, mail, etc.)
• Follow and abide by all J rules and policies.
• Attend J and departmental meetings as required.
• Report any issue that you cannot resolve but requires attention.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

• Grade School graduation
• High School Diploma/GED preferred
• Prior related experience preferred
• Must possess basic computational ability
• General knowledge of basic cleaning chemicals and their safety is a plus
• Able to communicate effectively
• Able to lift, carry, push, or pull objects not to exceed 50+ lbs.
• Able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis
• Able to stand and exert well-paced mobility
• Able to bend, squat, crawl, climb, reach
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple interruptions
• Able to attend J and departmental meetings as required
• Able to report issues requiring attention
• Able to follow and abide by all J rules and policies
• Able to volunteer to work setup and teardown for events
• Able to adjust hours or time outside of normal business hours
