About the role

QinetiQ US is seeking an experienced Facilities Custodian to support operations at our Fort Belvoir, VA customer location. The role involves maintaining clean, safe, and orderly facilities for a world-class team delivering advanced technology and products in defense, aerospace, security, and related fields.

Responsibilities

• Clean offices, kitchens, common areas, and restrooms
• Sweep and mop floors, vacuum carpets
• Prepare spaces for the next day by emptying trash, dusting, and tidying furniture
• Wash and sanitize toilets, sinks, showers; restock disposables
• Wipe mirrors and windows
• Collect and remove trash and recycling
• Dust all surfaces
• Wax floors and change air filters
• Clean vents and maintain all cleaning equipment
• Properly handle and store chemicals
• Report major damages and oversee repairs
• Maintain a thorough inventory and order new cleaning supplies as needed
• Operate equipment including commercial vacuums, floor buffers, and carpet cleaners
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Active DoD SECRET clearance with ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
• Minimum of three (3) years experience as a Custodian working on USG contracts/facilities
• Experience working on site at a USG building providing custodial services
• Experience using cleaning equipment to ensure offices, conference rooms, and restrooms are cleaned and maintained to ensure good working conditions
• Experience in:
  • Cleaning & Sanitation: Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, disinfecting surfaces, shampooing rugs, washing windows
  • Restroom & Office Cleaning: Sanitizing toilets, sinks, and fixtures; maintaining hygiene standards; restocking supplies
  • Equipment Operation: Using vacuums, buffers, carpet cleaners, and other commercial cleaning tools
  • Chemical Handling: Safe use and mixing of cleaning agents, wearing gloves and masks when necessary
  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring all areas meet cleanliness and safety standards
  • Time Management & Organization: Completing assigned tasks efficiently
• Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor
• Ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Adaptable to different environments and schedules

Preferred Qualifications

• Three (3)+ years experience as a Facility Custodian working on USG contracts/facilities

Pay

The salary range for this role is $70,000–$80,000 USD. QinetiQ US considers several factors when extending an offer, including role, function and associated responsibilities, candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
